San Miguel Bay Nearshore Wind Project (500 MW)
Nexif Ratch Energy is developing a 500 MW nearshore wind project in the San Miguel Bay (“SMB”) situated in Camarines Sur, Luzon, Philippines.
SMB has secured an Offshore Wind Service Contract (“SC”) with Department of Energy in 2021 for a contract area of 6,237 hectares.
A met mast has been installed since June 2022 to collect wind data.
San Miguel Bay Wind Project has been awarded the Green Lane Certificate by the Philippines’ Board of Investments (BOI) and subsequently granted the Certificate of Energy Project of National Significance (CEPNS) by the Department of Energy in December 2024.
The CEPNS designation recognizes energy projects that represent significant capital investments (over PHP 3.5 billion) and are critical to national energy security and economic development. This certification fast-tracks the project’s regulatory approvals, ensuring that it can move forward swiftly with streamlined coordination across government agencies and local government units (LGUs), facilitating its timely execution.
