A Wind Energy Service contract for the project was awarded to the project company by the DOE in August 2021, which allows the company to explore, develop and utilize a specific area of 6,237 hectares in Lucena and Sariaya, province of Quezon, Philippines. The project currently has an operational met mast which was commissioned in March 2023.
A Grid Impact Assessment has been approved in May 2023. Facility study is being undertaken for submission to and approval by NGCP.
Concurrently, Technical Studies (E.G., Geotechnical) are being undertaken at the site along with the Commencement of Environmental Studies in connection with relevant permits as well as various land acquisition works.
- Permitting: Service contracts are obtained, work is ongoing in relation to environmental and other approvals for the project.
- Substation Land: Works is advanced in relation to securing land acquisition required for the project substation.
- Transmission Line (TL) Corridor: The substation is proposed to be connected to the NGCP 230 kV Tayabas substation located about 25 km away. The route options of the transmission line based on the proposed substation locations have been identified.
