Nexif Ratch Energy Meet with Camarines Sur Province Leadership and Reaffirms Commitment to Delivering Landmark Offshore Wind Project
Nexif Ratch Energy (NRE), a leading renewable energy company in Southeast Asia, has reaffirmed its commitment to the Province of Camarines Sur during a high-level meeting between provincial leaders Governor Luigi Villafuerte and Congressman Luis Raymund Villafuerte and its CEO, Mr. Cyril Dissescou, joined by Mr. Nicolo Subido, Country Director of NRE in the Philippines.
Central to the meeting was the progress of the 500 MW San Miguel Bay Wind Power Project, one of the most advanced offshore wind initiative. The project has recently achieved several key milestones, including the award of its Pre-Development Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC), its designation as a Green Lane Project by the Board of Investments (BOI), and the issuance of a Certificate of Energy Project of National Significance (CEPNS) by the Department of Energy (DOE). The DOE recognizes the project as one of the frontrunner offshore wind projects in the Philippines, and it is expected to be among the first to deliver clean and renewable energy from offshore wind in the country.
The project will undertake the required technical and environmental studies, laying the groundwork for responsible and efficient development. These studies are conducted in close coordination with national agencies and local stakeholders, ensuring that environmental safeguards and local development goals are prioritized.
NRE has also confirmed its intention to participate in the highly anticipated Green Energy Auction 5 (GEA-5), a landmark auction dedicated exclusively to offshore wind. This auction marks a significant milestone for the Philippines as it seeks to scale up offshore wind deployment and take a major step forward in achieving its renewable energy targets under the Philippine Energy Plan. NRE’s participation reflects its commitment to be at the forefront of this transition.
Governor Villafuerte and Congressman Villafuerte expressed the Province’s full support, acknowledging not only the project’s national relevance but also its local impact in terms of green jobs, infrastructure development, and long-term economic value.
“The commitment of Nexif Ratch Energy to Camarines Sur has been consistent and commendable,” said Governor Villafuerte. “We’ve seen how they deliver—from Calabanga Solar to this landmark offshore wind project, and we are confident that their continued presence will bring sustained progress to the province.”
NRE’s commitment in delivering the San Miguel Bay Wind Power Project is grounded in its strong development track record in the Camarines Sur province. The company made its initial investment in the province through the 74 MWp Calabanga Solar Power Project which has been operating for 12 months.
“We are deeply committed to the Camarines Sur province, not only as an investment location but as a long-term partner in delivering clean energy transition to the country,” said Mr. Cyril Dissescou. “Together with the Provincial Government and our stakeholders, we are working with the utmost diligence and accountability to deliver the country’s first kilowatt hour of offshore wind power, right here in San Miguel Bay.”
