Matthew Bartley has over 20 years of experience in the development, financing, construction, acquisition and sale of power generation, renewable energy and other energy assets. Matthew co-founded Nexif Energy (www.nexifenergy.com), an independent power and renewable energy producer for which he is Managing Director. Nexif Energy has grown rapidly since it was founded with interests in power generation and renewable energy projects throughout Southeast Asia and Australia. In December 2022, Nexif Energy joint ventured with Ratch Group of Thailand to form NEXIF RATCH Energy to accelerate the implementation for its strong growth pipeline.
Matthew Bartley co-founded Nexif Energy after working from 1997 to 2011 with AES Corporation, a Fortune 500 global power company comprising power generation, distribution and renewable energy businesses. At AES Matthew led the successful completion of several key projects in Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, Europe, the United States and Australia. Mr. Bartley as President of AES Philippines was responsible for and led the acquisition, refurbishment and financing of the 600MW Masinloc Power Project in the Philippines in 2008, and was responsible for and led the sale of AES’s interests in its electricity generation and water desalination projects in Oman, Qatar and Pakistan, which represented over 1900MW of power generation and 60 MIGD of desalinated water production capacity. Other projects include leading the development and financing of a 670MW power project in Eastern Europe and acquisition of 950MW of gas fired power plants in Australia.
Mr. Matthew Bartley holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from the Queensland University of Technology and graduated with honors in 1988.
