The Rayong CCGT is a 98 MW Combined Cycle power project located near Rayong, Thailand, about 175 kilometers south of Bangkok.
The project is being constructed by Jurong Engineering Ltd. under a lump-sum turnkey EPC contract. The project achieved Financial Close and Notice to Proceed (NTP) was issued to the EPC contractor in April 2020. Construction activities at the site are presently underway, and the project is scheduled to commence commercial operations by April 2022.
The project is being built to meet international quality standards and to comply with the World Bank’s environmental and social standards. The project comprises of a Siemens SGT800 C gas turbine of 62 MW, a Siemens SST600 steam turbine, and dual-pressure HRSG with Inlet Air Cooling and Duct Firing. The project would operate on gas sourced under a 25 years’ GSA with PTT (the national oil & gas company of Thailand) while electricity output will be sold under a 25 years’ PPA to EGAT, the national power utility of Thailand.
When completed, the Rayong Co-Gen project will be among the most energy-efficient combined cycle projects at this scale.
